Zambian president Hakainde Hichilema has asked parliament to consider removing the death penalty from the laws of Zambia.
In his Africa Freedom Day message seen by HeyMedia the head of state said he believes in human rights for every citizen in this country. He added that the new dawn government has decided to take the decision to end the death penalty which he feels is inhuman.
Furthermore, the head of state pardoned over 2000 inmates who were serving various sentences.
