Zambia in nine gold medals and one silver

The boxing fraternity in Zambia has been hit with massive euphoria following team Zambia’s bagging of ten medals at the just ended Mount Kilimanjaro International Boxing Championship held in Tanzania.

The tournament was held from 27th to 31st May 2022 and Zambia had ten boxers representing the country of which all of the boxers minted medals for their breathtaking punches in the ring.

Some of the boxers who were in Tanzania include Zambia’s representatives at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Patrick Chinyemba and Stephen Zimba. Other boxers are Margret Tembo, Mwengo Mwale, Andrew Chilata, and Emmanuel Katema among others.

The championship was being used as a build-up for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and Countries from East and Southern Africa took part.

Coach Wisdom Mudenda and Kennedy Kanyanta were at hand to tutor the pugilists and see that they come back home with medals.

They are expected back home Thursday morning.
