A Lusaka man who killed Kabwata UPND lawmaker Levy Mkandawire, Alick Jeta Kalenga has been sentenced to 12 months of simple imprisonment.
High Court judge Ruth Chibbabbuka, who handed down the verdict a short while ago, ruled that Kalenga did not waste court’s time, was remorseful and pleaded guilty to the offence.
The offence of causing death by dangerous driving attracts K9,000 fine or up to five years imprisonment.
