The Drug Enforcement Commission –DEC has disclosed that the 15 flats in State Lodge area belonging to former First Lady Esther Lungu have been seized and investigations are continuing following her explanation when she appeared for questioning this morning.
The former First Lady in company of her husband Edgar Lungu this morning appeared before DEC for interrogation over her 15 flats the commission took possession in state lodge area which are suspected to be proceeds of crime.
DEC spokesperson Mathias Kamanga told Millennium radio that this is when DEC has officially seized the property as it had earlier on only taken possession of the property as it was yet to ascertain who the owner was.
Mr Kamanga further stated that an ordinary statement was recorded from the former first lady.But earlier after appearing before the commission Ms. Lungu’s lawyer Makebi Zulu told Journalists that the matter had been settled and any further follow up from the law enforcement agencies would be mere witch hunt.
