A Prophet from a church called ‘United End of Time’ situated in Lusaka’s Kanyama area has been arrested after he allegedly resorted to ‘sexual healing’ of an 18-year-old girl who he convinced had stomach problems that needed healing.
George Phiri is alleged to have taken advantage of his victim as he was also paying school fees for her and giving shelter.
Zambia Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said Phiri is alleged to have lured his victim to a lodge within Kanyama Township where he resides.
Mr Hamoonga said the incident happened on August 11th at around 11:00 hours.
“Police have charged and arrested George Phiri aged 30 a Pastor of United End of Time Church situated in kanyama site and service for the offence of rape. Brief facts of the matter are that the victim was being kept by the accused at his house although the two are not related. The pastor was helping the victim with shelter and school fees and took advantage of the situation and took her to a lodge within Kanyama Township and explained that she had a problem with her stomach that he needed to heal. He then had carnal knowledge of her,” he said.
Mr Hamoonga said a medical report form was issued to the victim and findings are consistent with the allegations.
He added that the suspect will appear in court soon and was released on police bond.
