P#lice in Isoka District of Muchinga Province have launched a manhunt for a 19-year-old man who has @xed his 11 year old brother to de@th Muchinga Deputy Police Commanding officer, identified the deceased as Maybin Simwendo of Chiwanda village.
The incidence occurred yesterday around 22:00 hours when the two were sleeping in the boys room, while their parents slept in the main bedroom.
Whilst asleep, the father Friday Simwendo was awakened by his wife who narrated how she heard a loud bang from the boys bedroom, that was immediately followed by their elder son Andrew Simwendo who has a mental disorder, now the suspect, walking outside the house.
when the mother went to check inside the boys’ bedroom, she discovered her young son Maybin Simwendo lying de@d in a pool of blood with an axe still logged in his neck, and In panic she removed the axe before alerting her husband.
The body of the deceased was later picked from the scene and conveyed to the Mortuary at Isoka District Hospital awaiting Post-mortem examination.
