500 jobless men abused by partners
ABOUT 520 men have this year reported being abused, including physically, by their partners after losing employment.
The cases of abuse, which range from sexual to emotional, were recorded from various parts of the country by Zambia National Men’s Network for Gender and Development (ZNMNGD).
A not-for-profit organisation, the network promotes gender equality and development through the engagement of men and boys as allies in challenging all forms of gender inequalities.
ZNMNGD national coordinator Nelson Banda believes the 520 cases recorded is proof that there are more men being abused by their partners.
Mr Banda said the victims complained of being physically, sexually and emotionally abused by their partners.
