The Ministry of Community Development and Social Services, has launched its 2023 to 2026 strategic plan, with a call for concerted efforts from all stakeholders in its implementation.
Speaking at the the launch in Lusaka, Community Development and Social Services Minister, Ms. Doreen Mwamba, said the strategic plan is meant to guide and enhance the performance of the Ministry.
Ms. Mwamba also expressed confidence that the new plan will help the Ministry in the successful execution of its mandate in line with Government’s agenda of enhancing socio-economic transformation for improved livelihoods.
“The Strategic plan envisions the Ministry to be an innovative model of excellence for basic social protection services,” Ms. Mwamba said.
She further called on all stakeholders to continue supporting the Ministry in meeting the targets set in the plan.
And Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Ms. Angela Kawandami said the Ministry, through the new plan will focus on critical areas such as basic Social Protection Services, Coordination Excellence, Innovation and Communication Excellence and Operational Excellence.
Meanwhile, Department of Planning and Information Director Mr. Patrick Choolwe indicated that under the previous strategic plan, the Ministry recorded an average performance of 51%, attributing it to support from stakeholders, development of the Zambia Integrated Social Protection Information System (ZISPS) and undertaking of the Social Protection Joint Annual Reviews among others.
