Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo says it may take two months for the rescue operation team to reach the site where some Senseli Open-Pit Mine victims in Chingola are believed to be trapped.
Updating the nation yesterday, Mr Matambo said the team has employed a method aimed at safely reaching one of the points where the trapped miners are.
He said the exercise is complicated and expensive, but the team is determined to put closure by finding the miners.
“We believe there are nine people trapped [at the site where the safe method has been employed], and it may take about two months to reach there,” he said.
Mr Matambo said it is Government’s desire to ensure all the trapped miners are retrieved.
