The Immigration Department has instructed all borders and regional immigration officers not to allow South Africa’s sensational dancer to enter the country ahead of the Amapiano festival in the commercial capital Blantyre.
The development follows an order by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture asking the Ministry of Homeland Security to apply necessary immigration laws on the artist.
“I write to inform you that the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Wildlife , through Censorship Board has not cleared an artist from South Africa named Zodwa Wabantu to perform in Malawi on an entertainment permit due to her moral degrading stage acts which include flaunting her nudity to audiences.
“In this regard, Do not allow entry into Malawi,” reads in part the MEMO seen by this publication.
Commenting on the development one of the organizers Biggie Lu said Zodwa Wabantu is not coming to Malawi.
“All I can say is Vukani and Soul Barbie Plus his Dancers are coming to PERFORM in Malawi but Zodwa Wabantu won’t come to Malawi now,” he said.
Meanwhile, Malawians continue to register their anger on the matter.
