Chipolopolo stars to get more dollars

IN A bid to motivate Chipolopolo players to qualify for the 2023 Ivory Coast Africa Cup of Nations finals, the Government has decided to revise winning bonuses.

Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts Elvis Nkandu said in Lusaka yesterday that revised allowances will be able to match with what other players are getting across the continent.
Nkandu, however, could not disclose the amount of money the players will be paid.

He said it is a pity that foreign-based players are getting as little as US$3,500 (about K60,000) as a winning allowance per match when other countries are paying close to US$15,000 .
