A 44- year-old woman of Chongwe district has been detained along with three of her relatives for allegedly m*dering her husband in cold blood after a marital dispute.
Simon Banda was found lying in a pool of blood with a deep cut on the left side of the mouth.
Zambia Police deputy Spokesperson Danny Mwale said Mr Banda is alleged to have had a dispute with his wife Alice Chipaya after a drinking spree.
He said the incident occurred between July 2nd around 21:00 hours and July 3rd around 01:00 hours in Nchute area of Chongwe district.
“Mr Banda was found dead in his house where he was sleeping with his wife and three others. Police officers who visited the scene found the deceased lying in a pool of blood with a deep cut on the left side of the mouth. Initial investigations revealed that the dece**sed had a quarrel with his wife after coming back from a drinking spree,” he said.
He said that the body of the deceased has been deposited at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) to awaiting postmortem, while his wife and three of her relatives are detained in police.
