WE ARE NOT HERE FOR CAMPAIGNS-MWAMBA
Minister of Community Development and Social Services, Ms. Doreen Mwamba who is on the Copperbelt Province, says those uncomfortable with her being on the province should get used because government’s development agenda has to go on.
Ms. Mwamba notes that development programmes are ongoing and can happen before, during or after an election.
Speaking when she paid a courtesy call on Copperbelt Province Minister, Mr Elisha Matambo, Ms. Mwamba said her developmental tour of the province, like other provinces she has so far visited was already scheduled.
She said social cash transfer is paid in every second week of the month and her being in the province at this time is not sinister.
Ms. Mwamba notes that the wheels of development should not be disturbed because of elections and activities that centre on development should not be misunderstood as campaigns because people are expectant to see development.
And Ms. Mwamba expressed happiness that a lot of goodwill has been shown by many coporating partners regarding social protection programmes.
