NATIONAL PARALYMPIC CONDUCTS TRIALS AHEAD OF GHANA GAMES

The National Paralympic Committee of Zambia has embarked on conducting trials to select athletes who can form a team to represent Zambia at the Paralympic games in Ghana.

The games slated for September 2023 will see athletes compete both in track and field events.

National Paralympic Committee of Zambia General Secretary Moses Chishimba says that trials will be done from OYDC Zambia stating at the weekend several athletes were invited to participate.

Chishimba disclosed that games will be used as qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Para games in France.

He has appealed to the corporate and others to support athletes and the committee stating that this will be the only way to motivate athletes who take part in these games.

Some of the sports codes Zambia is expected to take part while in Ghana include; Para power lifting, wheelchair basketball, athletics among others.

Meanwhile, Parapowerlifting athlete Richard Lubanza says him and other athletes are looking forward to the Ghana games adding that they will ensure that they train and get to be shortlisted for the Ghana outing.
