A 31-year-old woman, Esnart Daka, has been beaten to death by her husband’s family.
This occurred after the sudden demise of her husband, Rogers Chipango, who passed away the previous night due to a short illness.
The appalling incident surfaced when Lackson Chikwenda, 53, the uncle of the deceased woman, reported the case to Shampande Police Post.
The Choma General Hospital recorded the case as Brought-In-Dead.
Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Auxensio Daka, disclosed that Rogers Chipango died at his residence after falling ill suddenly.
Following the notification of his relatives by Esnart Daka, they began assaulting her, accusing her of causing her husband’s death.
A postmortem conducted on Esnart Daka by Dr. Shanba Thiery revealed that she succumbed to head injuries.
